Ingredients
Scale
Buns
- 9 mini pretzel slider buns, sliced into top and bottom halves
Meats
- 4–5 strips bacon
- 16 oz ground pork sausage
Egg Mixture
- 4 large eggs
- 2 tbsp milk
- Pinch of salt
- Freshly cracked black pepper, to taste
Cheese
- 4 slices Colby Jack cheese
Butter & Glaze
- 3 tbsp unsalted butter, divided
- 1 tbsp maple syrup
Optional Garnish
- Chopped fresh parsley
Instructions
- Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking dish or baking sheet with parchment paper to prepare for baking the sliders.
- Cook the Bacon: Heat a large skillet or cast iron pan over medium-high heat. Add the bacon strips and cook until they become crisp and golden. Once done, transfer the bacon to a paper towel–lined plate to drain excess grease.
- Cook the Sausage: Carefully drain off most of the bacon grease from the skillet, leaving about 1 tablespoon for flavor. Add the ground pork sausage to the same pan and cook over medium-high heat until browned and fully cooked, breaking it up into small pieces as it cooks. Remove the sausage from heat once done.
- Prepare Scrambled Eggs: In a medium bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, salt, and freshly cracked black pepper. Heat a second skillet over medium heat and melt 1 tablespoon of butter in it. Pour in the egg mixture and gently scramble the eggs until they are just set and soft. Remove from heat.
- Assemble the Sliders: Arrange the bottom halves of the pretzel buns in the prepared baking dish evenly. Layer cooked sausage evenly over the buns, followed by the scrambled eggs. Next, add the slices of Colby Jack cheese, then crumble or lay the cooked bacon strips on top. Cover each with the top half of the pretzel buns.
- Prepare Maple Butter Glaze: Melt the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter in a microwave-safe bowl and stir in the maple syrup until well combined. Brush this buttery maple glaze generously over the tops of the pretzel buns to add a sweet and shiny finish.
- Bake the Sliders: Place the baking dish uncovered in the preheated oven and bake for 10–15 minutes, or until the cheese melts and the buns are warmed through with a slight crisp on top.
- Serve: Remove the sliders from the oven. Optionally, sprinkle chopped fresh parsley over the sliders for a pop of color and freshness. Serve the breakfast sliders warm and enjoy!
Notes
- You can substitute the sausage with turkey sausage for a leaner option.
- Mini pretzel buns are available at most grocery stores or you can use small slider buns as an alternative.
- Make sure not to overcook the scrambled eggs to keep them soft and tender.
- For a spicier twist, add a pinch of cayenne pepper or chopped jalapeños to the eggs.
- Sliders can be assembled ahead of time and baked just before serving for convenience.
