Description

A simple and comforting Buttered Noodles recipe featuring tender egg noodles tossed in a flavorful garlic butter sauce, finished with Parmesan cheese and fresh parsley. Ready in just 15 minutes, it’s a perfect quick meal or side dish.

Ingredients

Scale

Pasta

  • 8 ounces egg noodles

Sauce

  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper (or more to taste)

Instructions

  1. Cook the noodles: Bring a medium pot of water to a rolling boil. Cook the egg noodles according to the package directions until al dente. Reserve 1/4 cup of the pasta cooking water before draining the noodles. Set noodles aside.
  2. Prepare the garlic butter sauce: In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about one minute until fragrant but not browned. Stir in the grated Parmesan cheese and add 2 tablespoons of the reserved pasta water. Continue stirring until the cheese melts smoothly into the sauce.
  3. Toss noodles with sauce: Add the cooked noodles, chopped fresh parsley, and black pepper to the skillet. Toss everything together until the noodles are evenly coated in the buttery garlic sauce. If the noodles seem dry, add more of the reserved pasta water a little at a time until you achieve the desired consistency.

Notes

  • Reserve pasta water helps to create a silky sauce that clings to the noodles.
  • Use fresh garlic and fresh parsley for best flavor.
  • Adjust black pepper to taste for a mild or more peppery kick.
  • For a richer dish, add extra grated Parmesan on top before serving.
  • This recipe can be easily doubled to serve more people.
