Ingredients
Scale
Meat Filling
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 packet taco seasoning mix
Dough & Cheese
- 1 tube Pillsbury Pizza Dough
- 5 colby jack and cheddar cheese sticks, halved
Topping
- 4 tbsp butter, melted
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp dried parsley
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent sticking and ensure easy cleanup.
- Cook Beef: In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned, breaking it apart with a spoon for even cooking.
- Season Beef: Drain any excess fat from the beef, then add the taco seasoning mix and prepare according to the packet instructions, stirring well to combine. Set aside.
- Prepare Dough: On a lightly floured surface, roll out the Pillsbury Pizza Dough to an even thickness.
- Cut Dough: Cut the rolled dough into 10 equal rectangular pieces for the taco sticks.
- Assemble Taco Sticks: Spoon a small portion of the seasoned ground beef onto each dough rectangle.
- Add Cheese: Place one halved cheese stick on top of the beef on each piece of dough.
- Roll & Seal: Roll the dough tightly around the beef and cheese, pinching the edges firmly to seal each taco stick. Arrange them seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet.
- Prepare Butter Topping: In a small bowl, combine the melted butter, garlic powder, and dried parsley, mixing thoroughly.
- Brush Topping: Brush the butter mixture generously over each taco stick to add flavor and ensure a golden crust.
- Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes or until the dough is golden brown and cooked through.
- Cool & Serve: Allow the taco sticks to cool slightly before serving. They pair wonderfully with salsa, guacamole, or sour cream for dipping.
Notes
- Use parchment paper to prevent sticking and for easier cleanup.
- You can substitute the colby jack and cheddar cheese sticks with mozzarella or your favorite melting cheese sticks.
- If you prefer spicier flavor, add some chopped jalapeños or hot sauce to the beef mixture.
- Make sure to seal the edges tightly to prevent filling from leaking while baking.
- Store leftover taco sticks in an airtight container in the refrigerator and reheat in the oven for best texture.
