Description

Crispy and flavorful Philly Cheesesteak Egg Rolls combine tender ribeye steak, sautéed onions and peppers, and melted cheese wrapped in golden-fried egg roll wrappers. Perfect as an appetizer or snack, these rolls deliver all the classic Philly cheesesteak flavors in a fun, crunchy twist.

Ingredients

Scale

Main Ingredients

  • 1 lb ribeye steak (or flank steak, thinly sliced against the grain)
  • 1 tbsp olive oil (for cooking)
  • 1 medium onion (sliced)
  • 1 bell pepper (sliced, optional)
  • 1/2 cup provolone cheese (shredded)
  • 1/2 cup Cheez Whiz (optional, for classic Philly cheesesteak flavor)
  • 8 egg roll wrappers
  • 1 egg (beaten, for egg wash)
  • Oil for frying (vegetable or canola)
  • Salt and pepper (to taste)

Instructions

  1. Cook the Beef: Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the thinly sliced ribeye (or flank steak) and cook for 3-4 minutes until browned and cooked through. Season with salt and pepper, then remove from pan and set aside.
  2. Sauté the Vegetables: In the same skillet, add sliced onions and bell peppers (if using). Sauté for 3-4 minutes until softened, seasoning lightly with salt and pepper.
  3. Combine Ingredients: Return the cooked beef to the skillet with onions and peppers. Stir in shredded provolone cheese and Cheez Whiz (if using) until melted and well incorporated. Remove from heat and allow to cool slightly.
  4. Assemble Egg Rolls: Place an egg roll wrapper on a flat surface with a corner facing you. Spoon 2-3 tablespoons of the beef mixture onto the center. Fold the bottom corner over the filling, then fold in the sides and roll tightly toward the top. Seal the edge with beaten egg.
  5. Fry the Egg Rolls: Heat about 2 inches of oil in a deep pan or wok over medium-high heat. Fry the egg rolls in batches for 3-4 minutes until golden brown and crispy. Drain on paper towels.
  6. Serve: Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauces such as ranch, ketchup, or extra Cheez Whiz for an authentic Philly cheesesteak taste. Enjoy!

Notes

  • Use thinly sliced ribeye or flank steak for the best texture and flavor.
  • The bell pepper is optional but adds a nice sweetness and color.
  • Cheez Whiz is optional but helps achieve a classic Philly cheesesteak flavor.
  • Be careful when frying and do not overcrowd the pan to maintain oil temperature and ensure crispiness.
  • Use a fresh egg roll wrapper; if frozen, thaw completely before using to prevent tearing.
  • Leftover filling can be refrigerated for 1-2 days but is best used fresh.
