Ingredients
Scale
Ingredients
- 12 oz fresh or frozen cheese ravioli
- 3 cups marinara sauce
- 1 tsp dried Italian herbs
- 1 cup ricotta cheese
- 2 cups shredded whole milk mozzarella cheese
- ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
Instructions
- Preheat and Prepare: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease a baking dish to prevent sticking.
- Heat Sauce: In a saucepan over medium heat, warm the marinara sauce and stir in the dried Italian herbs to infuse the flavors evenly.
- First Layer: Spread a layer of the marinara sauce on the bottom of the baking dish. Then add half of the ravioli on top, followed by dollops of half the ricotta cheese, and sprinkle half of both the shredded mozzarella and grated Parmesan cheese evenly over.
- Second Layer: Repeat the layering process with the remaining ravioli, ricotta cheese, and cheeses, finishing with the remaining marinara sauce and cheeses spread evenly on top.
- Bake Covered and Uncovered: Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake for 25 minutes. Then remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes until the top is golden brown and bubbly.
Notes
- Fresh ravioli can be substituted with frozen ravioli; just ensure they are thawed slightly before layering.
- Use whole milk mozzarella for a richer, creamier texture. Low-fat versions can be used for a lighter dish.
- Covering the dish during the first part of baking helps retain moisture and cook the ravioli evenly.
- Let the lasagna rest for 5-10 minutes after baking for easier slicing and serving.
- For extra flavor, sprinkle fresh basil or parsley on top before serving.
